How to verify a QR code before you click

Never trust a QR code just because it is printed in a public place. Verification shows who issued it and whether the cryptographic signature is still valid.

  1. 1. Open the QRalo scanner

  2. 2. Scan the code

    Allow camera access, then center the QR in the frame until detection succeeds.

  3. 3. Check the result

    Confirm the organization name, valid signature, and status (active / expired / revoked). Only then open the destination.

What a valid result means

  • • The QR payload was signed by the listed organization
  • • The content was not tampered with after issuance
  • • The code has not been revoked or expired

If verification fails

Do not open the link. Tell the business staff — the printed code may have been replaced (a common QR phishing tactic). Businesses can replace stickers with secure signed QR codes from QRalo.
